October 06, 2026 | Women's Golf
WEST POINT, Miss. – A windy day at Old Waverly Golf Club saw the Mississippi State Bulldogs drop one spot into third place after the second round of The Ally. Seniors Avery Weed and Samantha Whateley both sit inside the top 10 entering the final round of action.
Conditions on the course affected teams throughout the duration of the day, as 16 of the 17 teams in the field finished over par as a team during the second round. The sole team to finish under par was Oklahoma State, who jumped to first place after a 3-under round. The Bulldogs finished 7-over in the second day, which was the fourth-best round of the field.
Whateley was the lone Bulldog to finish par or better on the day, as she climbed five spots into the top 10 with her second consecutive even par round. Whateley enters the final round of action T9.
Weed put together an excellent back nine to remain in the top five entering tomorrow's final round. She shot a bogey free back nine, carded four birdies and finished the round 2-over par. She enters Wednesday's third round T5 at 2-over par.
