Reese, Sullivan Earn First Team All-American Honors
June 12, 2025 | Baseball
STARKVILLE – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) has named Mississippi State's Ace Reese and Noah Sullivan first team All-Americans.
Reese earned first team honors as a third baseman while Sullivan was selected as a utility player due to his dual threat prowess at the plate and on the mound. It's the second honor the Diamond Dawg duo has received this week after being selected to the ABCA/Rawlings South All-Region team.
It's also the second All-American distinction for Reese, who was tabbed to Perfect Game's third team earlier this week.
Reese started 57 games during his first season at MSU. The sophomore from Canton, Texas led the team batting .352 with 80 hits, 18 doubles, 21 home runs, 66 RBIs, 163 total bases and a .718 slugging percentage. He had 25 multi-hit games, 20 multi-RBI games and five multi-homer games.
The SEC Newcomer of the Year and first team All-SEC selection ranks second in the conference in slugging, third in homers and total bases, fourth in doubles, sixth in RBIs, seventh in hits and eighth in batting average.
Sullivan was the lone Bulldog to start all 59 games this past season where he batted .345 with 70 hits, 16 doubles, 15 homers and 46 RBIs. He ranks third in the SEC with a .475 on-base percentage.
On the mound, the junior right-hander from Orlando, Florida made seven midweek starts and sported a 1.96 earned run average. He struck out 15 and only walked three through 18 1/3 innings but did not render a decision.
Sullivan's addition gives State 58 All-Americans all-time and 161 All-American honors total (Freshman All-Americans withstanding). Last season, Jurrangelo Cijntje and Dakota Jordan were second team All-American selections by the NCBWA and Khal Stephen was a third teamer.
