STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State Bulldogs will open 2026 and the SEC schedule against the Auburn Tigers inside of Humphrey Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. on SEC Network+.

- Mississippi State concluded the non-conference slate at 13-1 after defeating Samford, 112-54.
- 112 points were the most in the Sam Purcell era and the most since November 2019.
- Four Bulldogs finished with double-doubles, making State the first team to have four in a single game this season.
- Favour Nwaedozi earned SEC Co-Player of the Week honors with 30-point, 10 rebound performance.
- Jaylah Lampley earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors with her first double-double with season-highs of 24 points and 10 rebounds. She shot 10-12 from the floor and 3-3 from distance.
- Madison Francis gained her third double-double of the year with 23 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks.
- Nwaedozi, Lampley and Francis were the first Bulldog trio to score 20+ points in one game since 2019.
- Chandler Prater became the first Bulldog to record a double-double in five straight games since Teaira McCowan in 2019 with 10 points and 10 rebounds against Samford.
- State shot a season-best 58.9 from the floor and tied their season-best three-point percentage of 47.1 percent. The Bulldogs also brought in a season-best 56 rebounds.
- Mississippi State is 24-24 in SEC play during the Purcell era. Inside The Hump, State is 14-10.
- In SEC Openers, State is 17-26 all time. They are 6-8 when they open the SEC slate inside Humphrey Coliseum.
