
Fakorede Moves To Number Two On The All-Time List

CLEMSON, S.C.- Mississippi State track and field concluded the first day of competition in Clemson, South Carolina, at the Orange and Purple Invitational.
The program saw success on both the track and in the field, highlighted by strong performances from Kennedy Stringfellow and Nicholas Fakorede. On the first day of competition, Lauren Lewis, Stringfellow, and Fakorede also earned event wins for the team.
Kennedy Stringfellow extended his No. 3 spot on the MSU all-time list, jumping a 1cm personal best of 7.67m in the long jump. He took home first place in the event, extending his win streak by another weekend. Nicholas Fakorede moved to the No. 2 spot on the all-time list, tying with Bulldog alumni Pierre Browne, clocking in at 6.60 in the 60m for a new personal best.
State saw 12 other personal bests during day one, staring off with Alex Inglis (3.42m) in the pole vault. While taking home first in the 600m, Lewis earned a new personal best of 1:32.88. Christion Barker, Curt Carman and Ben Murray earned personal bests in the 600m. The women's mile had the most entries and personal bests across the squad, boasting four from Hunter Anderson, Gabrielle Boulay, Ramat Jimoh and Madelyn Keating. Tamiia Fuller, Madison Gardner, Cooper Rodgers and Sherman Hawkins ran career-bests in the 400m.
