Mississippi State Falls to Georgia in Game Two

STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State University baseball team was defeated by the University of Georgia in a tight knit game by a score of 3-2 on Saturday night.
Jurrangelo Cijntje drew the start on the mound for the Diamond Dawgs. In five innings of work, he gave up five hits and two earned runs while striking out eight. The duo of Tyson Hardin and Nolan Stevens bridged the gap until the ninth inning. They only gave up two hits and two walks combined in three innings.
Dakota Jordan led the way at the plate tonight for the Diamond Dawgs. He went 1-for-3 with two RBIs coming from his single to left field in the fifth inning. Logan Kohler led the team at the plate going 2-for-4 on the night.
Mississippi State is back in action for the rubber match against Georgia on Sunday. First pitch is set 1 p.m. and the game is broadcast on SECN+.
