Bulldogs Go 3-1 On Day One Of ASU Thunderbird Invitational

TEMPE, Ariz. - After the first day of play at the Arizona State's 24th-annual Thunderbird Invitational in Tempe, Arizona, Mississippi State women's tennis is 3-1 overall. Friday's contests included meetings with players from Michigan in doubles and TCU in singles.
The first-time Bulldog doubles duo of Emma Antonaki and Anastasia Rentouli proved efficient as they outlasted Michigan's Anca Canciun and Alyvia Jones 6-3 to inaugurate the squad's first day in the Grand Canyon State.
Following that victory, a trio of Bulldogs went to battle against players from TCU in singles.
In the early afternoon singles session, Antonaki, the nation's 10th-ranked newcomer, powered past TCU's Stevie Kennedy 7-6(4), 6-2.
