LEXINGTON, Ky. – For its first road match in November, Mississippi State (5-20, 1-11 SEC) heads north to face No. 11 Kentucky (18-4, 12-0 SEC) on Friday (Nov. 9) in Memorial Coliseum.
The match will air on SEC Network+ with Dick Gabriel on play-by-play and Kathy DeBoer as the analyst at 6 p.m. CT. Fans can also access the match via the ESPN app.
"We are looking forward to another weekend of tough matches," head coach Julie Darty said. "To have the opportunity to play two opponents in one weekend who are both in the Top 25 is quite a privilege. I continue to preach to my team that it doesn't matter how quickly we are moving forward, and that we are headed in the right direction, we are moving towards our goals. That is what matters.
"We have had a pretty tough week of practice and are continuing to focus on our first contact and our serve and pass game, but with a team as polished as Kentucky we are going to just have to get after it, play loose and relaxed and have fun out on the court. I think that the team feels that the end is near, and because of that, these kids are playing with a little bit more emotion and passion than maybe earlier in the season. I am hoping we can just play some good volleyball and enjoy the rest of the ride."
