
Bulldogs Travel To Arkansas To Open SEC Play

STARKVILLE, Miss. – With the non-conference slate in the books, the Mississippi State soccer team now sets its sights on Southeastern Conference play.
The Bulldogs (6-0-1) will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks (4-4-0) on Friday with kickoff set for 7 p.m. at Razorback Field. The match will be streamed live on SEC Network+.
On Sunday, State tied South Alabama, 1-1. The Bulldogs battled back from a 1-0 deficit when Courtney Robicheaux scored the tying goal on a free kick in the 18th minute from just above the 18-yard box.
Brooke McKee currently leads the Bulldogs with eight points on the season (three goals, two assists), while MaKayla Waldner and AK Ward also tie McKee for the team lead with three goals apiece.
In goal, Catalina Perez has started all seven of MSU's contests, recording 17 saves and earning three shutouts.
About The Razorbacks
Arkansas comes into the match having dropped consecutive contests, the most recent being a 4-3 decision at Providence on Sunday. Despite the loss, the Razorbacks outshot Providence 23-10 and won the corner kick battle 8-5.
After finishing 18-5-1 overall last season and reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament, the Razorbacks were predicted to finish fifth in the league's preseason coaches' poll.
Next Up For MSU
After facing the Razorbacks, the Bulldogs will open its SEC home slate on Thursday, Sept. 21, against Missouri. Fans in attendance will have a chance to win $10,000.
