WACO, Texas – With the second day of the H-E-B Invitational completed, two Mississippi State women's tennis players advanced to the semifinals of the consolation singles draw. Newcomer Magda Adaloglou and sophomore Sara Lizariturry will continue action at 9 a.m. CT Sunday.

State's Adaloglou was outlasted by Jessica Hinojosa Gomez of host Baylor in a tough 3-6, 6-0, 6-1 decision in the main draw on Saturday. She then replaced Bulldog Khrystyna Vozniak in the consolation singles draw due to a minor injury, defeating TCU's Stevie Kennedy in straight sets 6-2, 6-0. Adaloglou will match up with Houston's Lauren Alter in the semifinals Sunday.

In her two consolation matches Saturday, MSU's Lizariturry only gave up five combined games in claiming two victories. In the round of 16, the Bulldog sophomore defeated Louisiana Tech's Claudia Oravcova 6-3, 6-1 and followed with another straight-set victory against Louisiana Tech's Nadga Manjon Mihalic - 6-0, 6-1 in the quarterfinals. On Sunday, Lizariturry will face Houston's Ana Glumac in semifinal action.

The Maroon & White's Vozniak pulled off a come-from-behind victory against Louisiana Tech's Karla de la luz Montalvo 4-6, 7-6(4), 1-0(3), for her first singles win of the season before withdrawing.

MSU's Caroline Kelly fell to Houston's Ana Glumac 6-2, 6-0 in consolation play. Kelly then played an additional match, where she triumphed against Louisiana Tech's Oravcova 3-6, 6-4, 1-0(9).
