Bulldogs Set To Face No. 3 South Carolina On Thursday

COLUMBIA, S.C. – One of the nation's top teams awaits the Mississippi State soccer team on Thursday as the Bulldogs (7-1-3, 1-1-2 SEC) travel to No. 3 South Carolina (10-1, 4-0) for a Southeastern Conference battle at 6 p.m. CT at Eugene E. Stone III Stadium.
This is the 18th meeting between the Bulldogs and Gamecocks and the 10th in Columbia.
When the Bulldogs were last on the pitch, they tied a tough Auburn squad 0-0 behind a strong defensive effort and a stellar night in goal from Catalina Perez, who displayed her senior leadership in organizing the MSU backs to limit the Tigers' chances while reeling in a game-high four saves.

South Carolina enters Thursday's contest having won eight consecutive matches, most recently claiming a 2-0 victory at Ole Miss on Friday, Sept. 29, in which the Gamecocks out-shot the then-18th ranked Rebels 19-6 and won the corner kick battle 7-2.
The Gamecocks return 12 letter winners from last season's 21-2-1 squad that reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament, including leading scorer Savannah McCaskill who leads USC in points (14) and assists (6).
