No. 5 MSU Wraps Pre-SEC Slate Wednesday Against Northwestern St.

STARKVILLE, Miss. – No. 5 Mississippi State looks to complete a perfect non-conference slate Wednesday at it hosts Northwestern State in a 7 p.m. tip at Humphrey Coliseum.

The Bulldogs, who remained No. 5 in Tuesday's USA Today Coaches Top 25 Poll, return from Christmas break 13-0. Vic Schaefer's squad is the SEC's only undefeated team and one of eight teams in the nation without a loss.

Wednesday's tilt will be Dollar Night. Tickets for adults cost $1, while students high school age and under get in free. There will also be $1 hot dogs available for purchase while supplies last.

Fans can beat the lines by purchasing and printing tickets at home via hailstate.com/tickets. Humphrey Coliseum doors open at 6 p.m., and fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy Bully's Kidz Kourt in Mize Pavilion and take pictures with the Golden Egg and St. Petersburg Bowl trophy.

Wednesday's game will be broadcast online on SEC Network +. WKBB-FM 100.9 will have the radio call in the Golden Triangle area, and a free online audio stream will be available at hailstate.com/plus.

The Bulldogs return to the home court after wrapping the pre-Christmas slate with a 90-47 win against Alabama State on Dec. 20. Victoria Vivians paced MSU with 28 points, giving her a 23.5 scoring average her last two contests and seven-straight games in double figures.

Junior Morgan William rates second on the team with 11.4 ppg. Chinwe Okorie averages 9.7 ppg while topping the Bulldogs on the boards with 6.3 rpg.

SERIES vs. LADY DEMONS

The Bulldogs and Lady Demons will meet for the fourth time, with all three previous contests coming in Starkville.
State has won all three previous meetings, with the last coming on this date in 2012, Vic Schaefer's first year at the MSU helm. Mississippi State won that contest 65-49.

ABOUT NORTHWESTERN STATE

The Lady Demons enter Wednesday's game 6-4 in the first season under head coach Jordan Dupuy, who is familiar with Mississippi State from his time on the staff at Southern Miss.
NSU has won three of its last four games, with the most recent being a 113-65 home win against Louisiana College.
MSU is the second SEC opponent Northwestern State has faced, as it dropped a 65-36 decision at Arkansas on Dec. 18.
Beatrice Attura paces the Lady Demons with 18.2 ppg. Cheyenne Brown scores at a 12.2 clip while leading the team with 6.3 rpg.

Wednesday is the non-conference finale for the Bulldogs and the first of two-straight games against teams from the state of Louisiana. MSU opens the SEC slate against LSU on Jan. 1.
State has won five-straight home games after defeating Alabama State 90-47 last Tuesday.
MSU is 29-8 all-time against current members of the Southland Conference.
The Dawgs have won their non-conference finale the last five years.
State's 13-0 record is tied with the 2008-09 squad for the second-best start in school history. The Bulldogs are the only undefeated team in the SEC and one of eight nationally. State and UConn are the only teams in the Top 10 of the NCAA RPI without a loss.
Mississippi State has won 41 of its last 42 regular season non-conference games going back to 2014-15. That tally includes 21-straight victories. The only loss came last season at Texas.
Mississippi State remained No. 5 in Monday's Associated Press poll for the fourth-straight week, the best ranking in school history. MSU's 44-straight weeks in the poll is the eighth-longest active streak in the nation.
MSU has held six opponents, three of its last four, below 50 points and 11 below 70 this season. State is third in the SEC and 29th nationally in scoring defense, allowing 54.8 ppg.
The Bulldogs average 80.1 ppg this season, second in the SEC and 26th nationally. After scoring its season low at Little Rock, MSU has averaged 85.7 ppg the last three games.
MSU has shot 46.2% from the field the last three games. It makes 47.3% for the year, tops in the league and 18th in the country.
State forced 29 turnovers for the second time in three games against Alabama State. MSU forces 21.8 turnovers per game, 17th in the nation. The Dawgs' +8.1 turnover margin is ninth in the Division I ranks.
Victoria Vivians scored a season-high 28 points in the team's last outing. She comes into Wednesday averaging 23.5 ppg her last two games after she tallied 19 at USC.
Freshman Ameshya Williams notched a season-high 12 points and tied for the team high with six rebounds against Alabama State.
Junior Morgan William is averaging 10.6 ppg the last five games. In that stretch she is shooting 55.2% from the floor.
In the last five games, Jazzmun Holmes has 21 assists (4.2 apg) to just four turnovers.
