- Strength & Conditioning Coach (WBK)
- Email:
Kaiti Jones joined Mississippi State Athletics in May of 2022 as a strength and conditioning coach for the women's basketball program. She will be in charge of the daily strength and conditioning regime for Sam Purell's team.
Jones, who came to Mississippi State after spending the 2021-22 season with the Sacramento and Stockton Kings as their Performance Coach and Sport Scientist, will be in charge of Sam Purcell's program's daily strength and conditioning regime.
While working with the NBA's Sacramento Kings and their G-League affiliate, the Stockton Kings, Jones was responsible for the physical development, preparation, and individual performance needs of assigned NBA roster athletes, two-way personnel and the entire Stockton Kings roster.
She provided data-driven athlete readiness, preparation, periodization, assessment, monitoring, regeneration and reconditioning for all assigned athletes. Jones led the Kings organization nutrition department that provided meals to athletes and kept the players fueled between practices and games.
Before going to the professional ranks, Jones spent four seasons at the University of Louisville, where she worked with women's basketball and women's lacrosse. She started with the Cardinals in 2017 as the performance coach before being promoted to senior performance coach in 2018.
During her time with Louisville, Jones led the development, implementation and analysis of sport-specific preparation, training, assessment, testing, screening and monitoring. She was also head of the Louisville Sports Performance speed team, tasked with providing innovation and implementation of speed training and testing protocols. She used data analysis to drive decision-making to determine athlete readiness, preparation and fatigue.
Before arriving at Louisville in August 2017, she spent two-plus years at Philadelphia Union Academy, where she served as Strength/Athletic Development Coach and Head Athletic Trainer. She designed and implemented reconditioning programs that included diagnosis, immediate care, strength training and conditioning, rehabilitation, and return to play protocols.
Jones' medical background in sports medicine (athletic training) makes her uniquely qualified to help keep healthy student-athletes on the court and assist the sports medicine staff in returning injured athletes to the court. Jones does so with specialized performance training and a progressive approach to reconditioning injured athletes.
In addition to mentoring under Teena Murray at Louisville, she has worked with Bill Knowles, a world-renowned reconditioning specialist. He has consulted with the NBA, MLS, NFL, NHL, AFL, UEFA, EPL, and more.
Jones earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine from Central Michigan University in 2012 and her Master of Science degree in Health Science Business Administration from Florida Gulf Coast in December 2016.
Jones' certifications include Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Board of Certification (ATC), Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), and American Red Cross AED/CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
