Jamie Desporte

Jamie Desporte was hired as Director of Softball Operations in October 2021. She handles all team travel, equipment ordering and other operational duties.
In her first season with the team, Desporte supported the Bulldogs’ run to their first Super Regional in program history. She was instrumental in State’s efforts to host its first on-campus postseason softball game. With Desporte’s help, the Bulldogs welcomed two Mississippi-record crowds to Nusz Park for the NCAA event.
Desporte previously served as a student manager in the Bulldogs’ program before she graduated with an education degree in 2016. She then completed her master’s degree in sports administration in 2021 through Arkansas State’s online program.
After graduating from State, Desporte spent four years coaching middle school and high school softball at St. Martin Middle and St. Martin High in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. In addition to her coaching duties, she taught broadcast journalism classes.
Desporte played softball collegiately at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College where she played in 30 games before transferring to Starkville and joining the Bulldogs.
