Bulldog Men Book Ten Tickets To Outdoor Championships On Day Three

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Mississippi State track and field booked 10 tickets to the NCAA Outdoor Championships on the final day of the men's competition at the East First Round.
The men's team will send five field athletes, two track athletes and two relays to the outdoor championships in Oregon in two weeks.
Kevin Grubbs was the first to punch his ticket for State on day three, finishing 10th in the discus with a 57.96m throw. This will be Grubbs' first appearance in TrackTownUSA.
Khalil Antoine made his East First Round debut in a big way, qualifying in both the high and triple jumps. His third round mark of 16.25m in the triple jump is also the second farthest in program history. Antoine finished the day in third in the triple jump and fourth in the high jump.
The men's 4x100m will return to Eugene after qualifying with a 38.78 finish. Their mark shaved half a second off the season's best and secured fifth place and a time-qualifying spot for the team. The squad, consisting of Nicholas Fakorede, Kibren Moore, Gabriel Scott and Sherman Hawkins, now holds the fastest time in program history in the event.
The tradition of Bulldog greatness in 800m continues in Harry Ross-Hughes and Sam Navarro, who both earned automatic qualifying spots to the outdoor championships.
The men's competition ended in the 4x400m, where the Bulldogs clinched a time-qualifying spot in 3:03.17. The quarter of Keayari Lee, Malachi Burton, Ross-Hughes and Hawkins will race again in Eugene in two weeks.
The women's team will conclude the meet tomorrow, with six athletes and one relay competing for a spot at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
