STARKVILLE – Mississippi State will make its 42nd NCAA Tournament appearance this weekend when it welcomes three other programs to Dudy Noble Field for the Starkville Regional.
The Diamond Dawgs will be the top seed in the Starkville Regional followed by No. 2 seed Cincinnati, No. 3 seed Louisiana and No. 4 seed Lipscomb. MSU opens the regional with Lipscomb on Friday at 1 p.m. and streaming on ESPN+ while Cincinnati takes on Louisiana later that day at 6 p.m. also on ESPN+.
Game times for the remainder of the regional are still being determined.
"I'm thrilled for our players and our fans that there will be postseason baseball back at Dudy Noble Field," said MSU head coach Brian O'Connor. "I've experienced how special this place is from both dugouts and know that this weekend will be an unbelievable experience for all involved. It will be a challenging regional with three talented teams coming to town and we look forward to the opportunity ahead of us."
General Admission all-session passes and parking are now on sale at hailstate.com/tickets.
State is making its third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Bulldogs are hosting for the 16th time in program history and first time since 2021 when they went on to host a Super Regional and eventually won the school's first national championship.
It is Mississippi State's 36th NCAA Regional selection and boasts 16 regional titles on its resume. The Diamond Dawgs are 91-47 all-time in regional action and reached the finals of the Tallahassee Regional last season.
MSU heads to the postseason at 40-17 overall and has hit a single-season school record 106 home runs. The Bulldogs won 11 games via the 10-run rule, swept six series including SEC road series at then No. 18 Ole Miss and South Carolina and Vanderbilt at home and currently lead the county in average attendance at 11,780.
Mississippi State is 19-3 all-time against the Starkville Regional field. The Bulldogs are a perfect 12-0 against Lipscomb and swept the Bison at home earlier this season on March 5-7 by scores of 8-3, 9-4 and a 26-0 one-hitter in seven innings.
State is 3-0 all-time against Cincinnati and 4-3 against Louisiana.
The Starkville Regional will be paired with the Athens Regional in the NCAA Tournament bracket.
