April 27, 2026 | Men's Tennis
STARKVILLE – For the eighth time in program history, the first and second rounds of the NCAA Men's Tennis Championships will run through Starkville.
Mississippi State will once again serve as a host site, marking the fourth-straight season the Bulldogs have welcomed NCAA Tournament action to the friendly confines of the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre.
The Dawgs earned the fifth overall seed and will host the Starkville Regional and will face fourth-seeded Tennessee Tech on Friday at 1 p.m.Â
No. 2 seed Wisconsin opens the regional against No. 3 seed Samford, Friday at 10 a.m. The winners of Friday's matches will face off Saturday at 1 p.m. for the opportunity to advance to the Sweet 16.
The Bulldogs enter postseason play in the midst of another historic campaign. Mississippi State owns 22 wins this season, tied for the fifth-most in program history, and posted 11 SEC victories, tied for the second-most all-time.
Mississippi State is making its 15th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Team Championship, tied for the longest streak in program history, and its 34th overall appearance. The Bulldogs have consistently advanced deep into the tournament, reaching the Round of 16 in each of the past three seasons.Â
A year ago, Mississippi State broke through to the quarterfinals for the first time since 2018, adding to a program résumé that includes two semifinal appearances (1994, 1998), seven quarterfinal berths and 18 Round of 16 finishes.
Individually, the Bulldogs continue to be recognized among the nation's elite. Benito Sanchez Martinez headlines the group after being named the 2026 SEC Player of the Year. He also earned First Team All-SEC honors alongside Petar Jovanovic. Mario Martinez Serrano and Niccolo Baroni were each named to the All-SEC Second Team, highlighting the depth and strength of this year's squad.
