
Bulldogs Drop Regular Season Finale To No. 6 LSU

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State could not overcome a strong LSU second quarter, as the Bulldogs fell to the sixth-ranked Tigers 72-63 on Sunday. Â
The Bulldogs outscored LSU in two of the four quarters and were only outscored by two points in the final quarter. However, State was unable to overcome being outscored by LSU 23-8 in the last ten minutes of the first half and ultimately fell by nine. Â
Kharyssa Richardson led the Bulldogs with 18 points and on 50 percent shooting. It was her 12th game in double figures this season. Â
Madison Francis broke the freshman record for blocks in a single season on Sunday's contest, as she finished with 13 points, nine rebounds, four steals and four blocks. Francis has recorded 84 blocks this season, which is fourth-most by any player in Bulldog history. Â
Chandler Prater scored 10 points, her 11th game in double figures and second-consecutive game doing such. She also recorded five rebounds and swiped two steals. Favour Nwaedozi recorded her 14th double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.Â
The Bulldogs will be back in action in the opening round of the SEC Tournament when they take on the 12th-seeded Florida Gators. Tipoff is scheduled for approximately 1:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on SEC Network.Â
