February 06, 2026 | Baseball
STARKVILLE – Three Mississippi State baseball players brought in more preseason accolades one week away from Opening Day.
The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) named designated hitter Noah Sullivan a first team All-American while third baseman Ace Reese received second team honors and outfielder Aidan Teel secured a spot on the fourth team.
Reese was also tabbed to the watch list for the Golden Spikes Award on Friday, which is presented each season to the top player in college baseball. Will Clark won the Golden Spikes Award as a Diamond Dawg in 1985.
The NCBWA tabbed Sullivan as a first team All-American following the 2025 season where he started all 59 games as a designated hitter and pitcher. The graduate from Orlando, Florida was second on the team batting .345 with 70 hits, 16 doubles, 15 home runs and 46 RBIs. He also ranked third in the Southeastern Conference with a .475 on-base percentage and reached base in 33 consecutive games during one stretch last spring.
Sullivan also posted a 1.96 earned run average on the mound where he made seven midweek starts. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound right-hander struck out 15 and only walked three in 18 1/3 innings.
It is the fourth preseason All-America honor for Reese entering the 2026 campaign. He was also deemed a first team selection by Baseball America and Perfect Game and a second teamer by D1Baseball.
Reese started 57 games at the hot corner last year and led MSU with a .352 batting average, 80 hits, 18 doubles, 21 homers, 66 RBIs, 163 total bases and a .718 slugging percentage while ranking in the top seven in the SEC in each of those categories. He also produced 25 multi-hit games, 20 multi-RBI games and five multi-homer games as a sophomore.
Teel is a redshirt junior who spent three years playing for Brian O'Connor at Virginia. The Mahwah, New Jersey native started all 50 games in center field for the Cavaliers last season where he was a third team All-ACC selection.
In 2025, Teel hit .317 with 59 hits, 20 doubles, seven homers and 40 RBIs with 51 runs scored. The 6-foot, 200-pounder posted a pair of walk-off hits and had a flawless fielding percentage with five outfield assists.
Sullivan, Reese and Teel will take the field against Hofstra in a three-game opening series on Feb. 13-15.
