The Final Horn: Missouri 88, State 64
February 28, 2026 | Men's Basketball
THE BOTTOM LINE: Mississippi State dropped an 88-64 decision to Missouri on Saturday afternoon at Humphrey Coliseum. The Tigers got off to a quick start with a 9-0 run to seize momentum early and kept their foot on the gas on the way to a 54-23 halftime lead. The Bulldogs were unable to string together enough stops and buckets down the stretch to mount a comeback in the second half.
KEY NUMBERS: Josh Hubbard led State in scoring with 16 points, but it wasn't enough for the Dawgs. Quincy Ballard added 12 points and six rebounds for MSU. A large factor in the State loss was Missouri scoring 27 points off 18 MSU turnovers. The Bulldogs have given up a combined 117 points in the last two first halves of play.
NEXT UP FOR MSU: The Bulldogs travel to Gainesville to face Florida on Tuesday, March 3. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. CT, and the game will be aired on SEC Network.
