Sacco Finishes Among Top 30 In First Career AUSL All-Star Cup
September 03, 2025 | Softball
STARKVILLE – Former Mississippi State softball All-American Sierra Sacco placed 30th in the inaugural AUSL All-Star Cup, her first career appearance in the league's individual scoring format.
Â
Sacco started in all 10 games and reached base in all but two of them. Her 140 stat points ranked fifth among rookies, but her teams finished a combined 5-5, leaving her with just 580 win points out of a possible 1,300 for the season. By comparison, All-Star Cup champion Kayla Kowalik took home 990 win points.
Â
In her first game, the Marrero, Louisiana, native turned in a season-high 150-point effort despite not recording a hit after walking in two of her three plate appearances. That put her in sixth place on the leaderboard, her high-water mark on the season. She then matched that point production on Aug. 29 with a 2-for-4 day at the plate. It was her second multi-hit game of the All-Star Cup.
Â
Sacco was voted Defensive MVP on Aug. 24 in Team Ricketts' win over Team Coffey. Over 10 games, she totaled 11 putouts without an error. The 2025 AUSL All-Defensive Team selection has not made an error in a collegiate or professional game since March 25, 2023, a streak that includes 279 combined chances.
Â
The outfielder is the second former Bulldog to have played in Athletes Unlimited's leaderboard format. Mia Davidson
Davidson played in each of the last three AU Pro Softball Championship Seasons in addition to the 2023 AU Pro Softball AUX campaign. She fashioned a career-best third-place finish in the 2023 AUX competition after claiming 1,122 leaderboard points over 10 games, including 720 win points, while ranking second in the circuit with 382 stat points.
Â
Davidson also set an AUX single-season record with five home runs during the 2023 campaign and topped the league chart after being hit by a pitch seven times. Her .506 career on-base percentage ranked second in AU Pro Softball history, and her .698 career slugging percentage was third. She missed the 2025 AUSL season due to injury, but will return to action this fall with Denso Bright Pegasus in Japan's Diamond League.
Â
Davidson served as a facilitator this summer along with MSU coordinator of player development Alyssa Loza. It was Loza's second summer with Athletes Unlimited, and she will return to Starkville this fall.
