
Bulldogs Earn Eighth Straight Victory With Sweep Over Mercer

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Mississippi State volleyball has extended its winning streak to eight victories with a three-set triumph over Mercer.
State is currently on its best season-opening run in 20 years, winning eight consecutive matches, seven of which are in straight sets.
The team finished the match with a .320 hitting percentage, boasting a .762 percent in the second set. The Bulldogs totaled 45 kills in the match, led by Mele Corral-Blagojevich at 14 for a new career high. McKenna Yates led in digs, earning 19 for a new season's best.
Lindsey Mangelson earned her second career double-double, after totaling 11 digs and 12 kills over three sets. She also led the squad in points this match, earning 15.5 over three sets.
The team has 16 blocks this match, led by Cayley Hanson, who had five block assists. Hanson also earned 38 total assists this match.
State held Mercer to its furthest point margin this season after taking the second set 25-9. The Bears finished the match with a .151 hitting percentage and 35 points to State's 59.
