Yates Earns Over 300 Career Digs In Win Over Grambling

STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State volleyball team won in a decisive three sets over Grambling on Saturday evening. Â
State ended the match with a .446 hitting percentage, earning 46 kills over 83 attempts. This marks the first match of the season where the team hit .400 or better, and the first time to do so since November 2024.
McKenna Yates led the squad in digs with 14, contributing to the team's total of 37 digs throughout the game. Yates has officially secured over 300 career digs in this match, totaling 317 over her freshman and early sophomore seasons.
Lindsey Mangelson and Noella Obi both scored in double-digits, with 17.5 and 10.5 points, leading the team. Mangelson also led in hitting percentage, with a .789 final statistic.
The Bulldogs totaled 46 kills, with Mangelson leading the squad with 15. Obi and Bernardita Aguilar put up nine and eight kills, respectively.
Cayley Hanson totaled 37 assists in the three-set match, improving on her career best set in last night's match against SEMO.
The Bulldogs will conclude the Maroon and White Invite tomorrow, matching up with North Alabama at 2 p.m. in The Griss. The match will be available to stream on SEC Network+.
