Women's Golf Announces 2025-26 Schedule
July 14, 2025 | Women's Golf
STARKVILLE – After making their fourth consecutive NCAA Championship appearance in the 2024-25 season, Mississippi State women's golf and head coach Charlie Ewing announced the schedule for the upcoming 2025-26 season. The slate for the Bulldogs sees nine regular-season events, eight of those returning from last season.
Â
"We've found a great schedule that has worked out great for us the last several years and are starting to settle into it. It allows us to travel the whole country, compete with the best teams nationally and most importantly, prepare ourselves properly for the postseason," Ewing said. "We are going to be challenged quite a bit again this season and that's by design. We want to be a battle-tested team in the postseason so we can be ready for anything the most important tournaments of the year could throw at us. This season will be exciting and I'm looking forward to learning a lot about our team along the way.
Â
For the fourth consecutive season, the Bulldogs will begin their season hosting the Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach Golf Links, beginning on August 29. The tournament is unique to any other on State's schedule, as each team enters the competition with six-woman teams rather than the traditional five.
Â
From there, the Bulldogs head to Franklin, Tennessee for the Mason Rudolph Championship, hosted by Vanderbilt. The three-day event is scheduled to begin on September 19. Avery Weed saw success at the tournament last season, picking up her first collegiate individual victory at 13-under par.
Â
Next up on the schedule for State is the Blessings Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Arkansas, which kicks off on September 30. Unique to the Blessings, each team plays alongside their teammates, rather than the typical collegiate golf format of pairing up with players from opposing teams. The event also marks the lone time that the Mississippi State women's and men's program compete in the same tournament. On top of the individual and team championships, a "Best Ball" title is awarded, which goes to the best combined score of a men's and women's golfer from one university.
Â
The fall schedule concludes when the Bulldogs play their lone home tournament, The Ally, at historic Old Waverly Golf Club beginning on October 20. Last season, Weed became the second Bulldog to ever win State's home event and the first to win it since it was renamed The Ally in 2020. She tied an NCAA record during the event after shooting an 11-under opening round.
Â
The Bulldogs begin the spring portion of the schedule on February 15 at the UCF Challenge in Orlando. Izzy Pellot excelled in last year's edition in her hometown, earning a career-best third place finish at 9-under par, which also tied her career-best score.
Â
On February 15, State will make their first appearance in the Moon Golf Invitational, hosted by Louisville in Melbourne, Florida. From there, State's next tournament will begin on February 23 in Houston, the Chevron Collegiate.
Â
Next up on the schedule will be the State's first match play tournament, the Old Barnwell Derby Match Play, which kicks off on March 16. The tournament will see five Bulldogs compete against five opposing golfers individually, where players will compete on a hole-by-hole basis. The first school to have three golfers win their individual matchups win the match.
Â
State will then conclude the regular season at the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate Invitational in Fort Worth, Texas, hosted by TCU. The event will kick off on March 23.
Â
In terms of the postseason, the Bulldogs will begin their journey for a second SEC Championship on April 17. Following the conference tournament, the NCAA Tournament will begin with regional action on May 11th. State would then look to advance to the NCAA Championship for the fifth season in a row when it begins on May 22nd.
