Rougetet Named SEC Field Athlete Of The Week

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State javelin thrower Rémi Rougetet was named the SEC Field Athlete of the Week.

The legacy of JavU lives on in Rougetet, who has been a staple in the throws for the men's team.

Rougetet competed in his second meet of the season at the Maroon and White Tune Up, hosted by State, last weekend. In his final attempt, he launched the javelin 76.43m for a new personal best, leading the field by over 10 meters.

Rougetet, a two-time All-American in the javelin, sits third in the SEC and eighth on the NCAA performance list.

This is Rougetet's first SEC Weekly honor, and he is the first javelin athlete to win the award since 2021 for State and is the sixth honor for the squad in the 2025 season.

Rougetet will begin the postseason at the SEC Outdoor Championships, hosted by Kentucky, next week.
