STARKVILLE – Mississippi State track and field closed out the regular season on day two of the Maroon and White Tune Up in a day plagued with weather delays.
The day began in the women's high jump, with Kennedy Jackson earning a season's best of 1.65m. Jackson and Kennedy Stringfellow earned wins in the long jump shortly after, with Jackson jumping a wind-aided personal best of 6.21m.
The meet was held under lightning and weather delays for nearly three hours at the conclusion of the long jump.
Remi Rougetet started the throws with a win, throwing 76.4m for a new personal best in the javelin. His mark moves him to this season's No. 8 spot on the NCAA performance list.
The men's 400m squad earned a trio of personal bests in the distance, with Sherman Hawkins leading the squad with 46.37.
The 800m squad earned wins on both the men's and women's side, with Abdullahi Hassan running just under his personal best for 1:45.58 to hold off the field by roughly three seconds. Hayley Ogle took the win for the women, earning a new personal best of 2:05.36.
The day closed in the women's 1500m, with Nelly Jemeli battling through debilitating headwinds to take the win.
The meet eventually concluded early with just the 4x400m relays left, due to inclement weather.
This weekend marks the end of the regular season for the Bulldogs. The outdoor postseason campaign will begin with the SEC Outdoor Championships, hosted by Kentucky, in two weeks.
