Roberto Ferrer Guimaraes Named to SEC Community Service Team
April 09, 2025 | Men's Tennis
STARKVILLE – On Thursday, the Southeastern Conference announced the Community Service Team for men's tennis, with Roberto Ferrer Guimaraes earning the honor for Mississippi State.
The SEC puts together a SEC Community Service Team for each of its 22-league sponsored sports, highlighting athletes from each school who give back to their community through superior service efforts.
Ferrer Guimaraes, a native of Lakeland, Tennessee, has been one of the most proactive community service leaders on the men's tennis team. Since coming to Starkville in the Fall of 2023, Ferrer Guimaraes has participated in countless community service events.
He has totaled 14 hours of service just for this year at places like the Thanksgiving Food Drive, SEC Food Fight, Coffee with a Cop, Casserole Kitchen, and the Starkville Strong Food Drive.
Ferrer Guimaraes has shown through his efforts around the community that he truly cares about the people of Starkville that have supported him in his time here at State. Whether he is giving out free food supplies in times of need or sitting down with our everyday heroes, he has made time in his schedule to make a serious difference in his community.Â
