April 18, 2025 | Track & Field
Both meets saw large performances from the Bulldogs, with the distance group competing in Winston-Salem and the rest of the team in Gainesville.
The day began in North Carolina, with the women's 3000m steeplechase as the weekend's first event. Brooklyn Quanz improved on her best set three weekends ago, running 10:31.24 to finish fourth. Lousie Stonham finished closely behind, running 10:33.24 for fourth.
In the women's 1500m, Nelly Jemeli won the event with a two-second personal best of 4:22.58, with Milicent Kemboi finishing closely behind for second. Lauren Lewis opened her season in the 800m, running 2:08.48 in the invite section. Â
The Bulldogs closed out the Wake Forest Invitational in the women's 5000m, with program record holder Naomi Jepleting and cross country record holder Gabrielle Boulay both competing in the event.
Jepleting ran a massive personal best of 15:43.11 to finish second overall, surpassing her previous personal best and program record. Her time was one of the 11 overall finishes to surpass the facility record.
In her first outdoor 5000m race, Boulay ran 16:31.86 for the fifth fastest time in program history.
Gainesville had its share of exciting action, with the day starting in the women's 200m. Rickyla Fagan and Kyndall Sessom both earned massive personal bests, with Fagan running 23.93 and Sessom running 24.24 over the distance.
Jessicka Woods outperformed her 400m hurdles program record, set here just two weeks ago, for a new personal best of 57.18.
The day closed in the women's 1500m, with Ramat Jimoh finishing second with a new personal best of 4:25.02.
