Mangelson Earns Second SEC Weekly Honor
November 03, 2025 | Volleyball
STARKVILLE – Mississippi State volleyball player Lindsey Mangelson was named the SEC Freshman of the Week, announced by the SEC this afternoon.
"So proud of Lindsey for the work she is putting in," said head coach Julie Darty Dennis. "Lindsey is a huge piece of our puzzle, and we are asking her to carry quite a big load as a freshman, and she is handling it with such poise and confidence. I'm incredibly proud of Lindsey and excited to see what she does the rest of the season!"
Mangelson put on a show against LSU this past Friday, totaling 23 kills on 59 attempts. She ended the match with a .322 hitting percentage and picked up two service aces and blocks.
The freshman also earned 26.5 points in the match, tying for her second-best total this season and in her overall career.
Mangelson now sits in the No. 5 spot on the program's freshmen record list for kills at 318, and counting, over the season. She also sits at the No. 9 spot on the freshman record list for attack attempts, earning 810 over the 71 sets played this season.
This season has been memorable for Mangelson, as she has cemented herself as one of the most dominant freshmen in the league. She is currently the leading freshman in the conference in kills per set and points per set.
Mangelson is also the top freshman in the nation in attacks per set, kills per set and points per set.
This is Mangelson's second SEC Weekly Honor, after being named Freshman of the Week in the first SEC poll of the season.
Mangelson, along with the rest of the Bulldogs, returns to action this Wednesday against Oklahoma.
