Jimoh, Boulay Named To USTFCCCA All-Academic Team
January 31, 2025 | Cross Country, Track & Field
STARKVILLE – Mississippi State cross country athletes Ramat Jimoh and Gabrielle Boulay were named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team.
"We are super proud of the girls for getting it done not only on the course but in the classroom," said assistant coach Erinn Stenman Fahey. "They are a driven group, making it fun to coach, and it shows what they can do academically and athletically."
Jimoh and Boulay led the team to the most successful cross country season in nearly a decade last fall. The team finished 11th at the SEC Championship, with Jimoh finishing 23rd and Boulay right behind in 24th. Both women ran 19:56 in the 6k, breaking the MSU record in the distance, and are the first women to run sub-20 minutes in university history. Both women earned All-Region Honors at the South Region Championship, finishing 24th and 25th. The two are the first women to earn regional honors since 2016.
The team was also named to the All-Academic Team list. The criteria for qualification were maintaining a 3.0 GPA and finishing in the top 25 at their respective regional championship. Team nominations are contingent on the squad maintaining a 3.0 GPA as a collective.
The team is currently competing in the indoor track season, with cross country set to begin this upcoming fall.
