Cross Country Kicks Off Season Saturday Night

MEMPHIS, Tn. – Mississippi State cross country will kick off the 2024 season at the City Auto Memphis Twilight XC Classic on Saturday evening.
The Bulldogs will line up at 9:20 pm CT for the college women's 5k at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex. MSU's last appearance at this venue was in 2022 when three athletes finished in the top 20.
MSU is one of 19 teams, highlighted by conference rival #27 Ole Miss.
Mallory Streetman leads the team with the fastest 5k personal best heading into the season at 18:06.6. She clocked that mark at the 2023 season opener, The Southern Showcase, on Sep. 15 of that year in her collegiate cross country debut. Gabrielle Boulay has the next fastest 5k time, opening the season with a personal best of 18:32.3.
Gracie Gibson looks to start her senior season this weekend after not competing in the 2023 season. Trinity Holland will kick off her sophomore season this weekend as a Bulldog.
Rounding out the lineup for State is Reese Terza, Morgan Grace Sheffield and Kaitlyn Burge. All three are making their collegiate cross country debuts.
