CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Mississippi State soccer secured a commanding 2-0 win over Charlotte at Transamerica Field, improving to 3-0-0 on the season. The Dawgs well-rounded performance was highlighted by goals from Kennedy Husbands and Maggie Wadsworth, as well as a stellar defensive effort that limited the 49ers (0-3-0) to just three shots.
With the road win, the Bulldogs improve to 3-0-0 for the first time since 2018 and, for the first time since 1996, have not allowed a goal in their opening three matches.

Ally Perry had the first shot on goal in the 9th minute, which was saved by Charlotte goalkeeper Emma Wakeman. The Bulldogs continued to press, with Rylie Combs striking the woodwork in the 16th minute.
After sustained pressure, Mississippi State broke through in the 31st minute. Ilana Izquierdo delivered precise service to Kennedy Husbands, who finished calmly to put the Bulldogs ahead 1-0 for the first goal of her collegiate career.

Second Half Recap:
The Bulldogs came out of the break with the same intensity, controlling the tempo and continuing to create scoring opportunities. Wadsworth nearly scored in the 57th minute, and just a minute later, found the back of the net to make it 2-0, capitalizing on an offensive lapse by the 49ers.
Mississippi State's defense remained resolute, allowing only one shot on goal, which was comfortably saved by Maddy Anderson in the 80th minute. The Bulldogs continued to push forward, with Ally Perry and Macey Hodge both coming close to extending the lead.
