
Bulldogs Lose Series At No. 14 Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Late inning rallies were not enough as No. 18/18 Mississippi State fell, 4-1, at No. 14 Missouri.

The Bulldogs loaded the bases in the sixth inning, but only scratched across one run. In the seventh, State put runners on second and third, but could not add to it.

Sierra Sacco led the way offensively with a career-high two doubles and finished with three hits. Kylee Edwards also collected a pair of singles.

Delainey Everett shone in relief, retiring six of the seven batters she faced without allowing a hit. She struck out the side in the fifth and added a fourth strikeout in the sixth.

Katie Chester pinch hit and drove in both runners with a ball that narrowly escaped the diving center fielder's glove. Danielle Blackstun pinch ran at first for Chester. She advanced to second on Kayley Lenger's ground out to third and scored on Laird's single to left.
