Diamond Dawgs Fall to Austin Peay, 13-10

Dawgs draw a season-high 14 walks against Austin Peay.
STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State Bulldogs dropped its second straight contest on Wednesday as they dropped the contest, 13-10.
 
The Diamond Dawgs came out hot putting up five runs in the first inning led by a homerun from Amani Larry, his first of the season. Larry's leadoff home run was the first since May 21, 2022, when RJ Yeager hit a leadoff home run against Tennessee. Larry went 2-for-5 at the plate with a home run, an RBI and three runs.
 
Besides Larry, Hunter Hines went 2-for-4 with a double. He drove in a team-high three RBIs against the Governors. Dakota Jordan and Dylan Cupp each picked up a hit in the contest.
 
Walks became the name of the game as Austin Peay walked six of Mississippi State's lineup. State walked 14 times on the night, the most since March 14, 2006, at UAB (16).
 
The Bulldogs are back in action for a weekend series versus Georgia Southern. Game times are set for Friday 4 p.m., Saturday 2 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. CT all games will be aired on SECN+.
